CHRISTMAS AT THE INNS OF THE BED AND BREAKFAST ASSOCIATION OF SOUTHERN MICHIGAN – A TRUE HOLIDAY TREAT

(Southern MI) – The member Inns of Bed and Breakfast Association of Southern Michigan (BBSM) make Christmas come alive with special lodging packages, beautiful decorations and an unparalleled warmth and friendliness.

Even though the Inns are a close to major urban areas (short two to two-and-a-half hour drive from Detroit, Indianapolis and Chicago), it’s like entering another world. Nestled in the beautiful Amish farm country of Southern Michigan, the area is teeming with charm and an old-world kindness often hard to find in today’s world.

That charm and kindness makes Christmas at the Inns extra special. The member Innkeepers are dedicated to making guests’ holiday stays ones to remember.

At the Mendon Country Inn in Mendon, MI, South African expatriate Innkeepers Chef Gerard and Cheryl Clarke host English Christmas weekends. These special weekends include a chocolate tasting, full country breakfast, special English Christmas dinner prepared by Chef Gerard and a gift exchange, not to mention a multitude of other activities.

The Palmer House Inn Bed and Breakfast in Albion, MI, features 12 themed Christmas trees throughout the house, decorated by Innkeeper Scott Marvin. The Palmer House also offers private Christmas parties upon availability.

The Sanctuary at Wildwood’s “Colorado Country Christmas” weekends in December bring that special something to the Christmas holiday. Innkeepers Dolly and Dick Buerkle prepare a special Christmas dinner and a visit from Santa and his elf.

Nancy Stewart’s Willow Glen Pond holds a special event the first weekend in December to set the Christmas mood. The “Dickens of a Christmas Weekend” features Christmas caroling, decorating, an English Christmas breakfast and contra dancing. Guests often come in 19th century costume.

The participating Inns take care of all Christmas setup and cleanup as well, a dream for those people who hate the hassle of Christmas decorating, dinner and dishes. The Inns make sure you can enjoy Christmas without having the stress.

The central location to so many surrounding states also provides a way to get together with families scattered through the area. Families with members in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan can all convene in one of the Inns for a Christmas party without deciding which family member has to host all the guests this year.

The goal of the BBSM is to put our guests in the Christmas spirit, far away from the stress-filled hassle that Christmas can become. We want our guests to have a Christmas filled with joy, happiness and ease; truly a Christmas to remember.
