TRAVEL THE UNDISCOVERED WATER TRIALS OF SOUTHERN MICHIGAN

(--MI)—The undiscovered Michigan Heritage Water Trails of The Bed & Breakfast Association of Southern Michigan, located in St. Joseph County is open for exploration.

St. Joseph County is referred to as River County because the Michigan Heritage Water Trails span over two creeks and three rivers: Little Portage Creek, Nottawa Creek, Portage River, Prairie River and the St. Joseph River.

The rivers are surrounded by six cities in Southern Michigan: Mendon, Colon, Centerville, Three Rivers, Moore Park, Parkville and parts of Leondis.

There are 37 historic points marked on the waterways. They are lettered by waterway. For example, “NC” would be Nottawa Creek.

Each mark gives historical information, one site along the way is the PO-4 fourth quarter mark on Portage River Trail marking the Parkville Millsite.

The Mendon Country Inn & Creekside Lounge is a Bed & Breakfast Inn to stay at that overlooks Michigan Heritage Water Trail’s, St. Joseph River and Little Portage Creek.
