The Cardboard Classic Sled Race:  The city of Albion has been blessed with a number of beautiful parks. Victory Park, located along the Kalamazoo River, has a wonderful hill that has provided sledding for generations of Albionites both young and old. In 1991, this hill hosted the first Cardboard Classic Sled Race. Fifteen enthusiastic participants faced off in a sled race and design contest, using cardboard donated by World Corrugated Container, Inc. News of the events success traveled throughout the area as the event matured, and at a recent race, 150 children of all ages (3-103 years old) entered the contest. Spectators arrived from as far away as New Jersey! Entries are as elaborate as Cinderella’s coach complete with horses (all made of corrugated materials) and as simple as a cardboard box.

  1. I have visited Bretty's on many occassions and have found their crafts and folk art to be unique items with a Michigan flair that make wonderful gifts from the Great Lake State. They also have a large selection of jams and jellies and sauces and mustards plus other unique codiments and edibles.
